Mary Fields was a trailblazing pioneer. She became the first African-American woman employed as a star route mail carrier in the United States. Born into slavery in Tennessee, she gained freedom after the Civil War and worked at an Ursuline convent in Toledo before moving to Cascade, Montana. Robin Cooper, from Women In History, will portray the life of Mary Fields following a western themed lunch.
