Did you ever want to keep the feelings of Christmas all year long? You’re in luck! In fact, the year-round Nativity collection at St Pauls Lutheran Church offers so much more in the “off-season” that you can ever experience during the busy holiday.
The exhibit includes 700 nativities from different eras and 34 different countries. The diverse collection celebrates how people view the birth of Christ from their own cultural perspective. Materials used range from wood, plastic, beeswax, banana leaves, pine needles, pop cans, fabric, sugar, egg shells, magazines, yarn and much more.
Many pieces were donated from the private collections of Anna Mae and Carol Bowles, and Pattye and Bill Nicolls. The exhibit is located in Nativity Hall, on the second floor of St Pauls HeART Gallery. It is handicap accessible, although the elevator will be replaced in the summer of 2026 – limiting tours for a short time.
Tours include a multimedia introduction illustrating artistic workmanship, cultural details and points of historic interest within the beautiful architecture of the building itself. We invite you to visit and appreciate the global nature of Christ’s birth in a visual way.
