What to Expect

Welcome to our church website! We are located in downtown Toledo with a heart for serving the community. We don’t care how you’re dressed, how many tattoos you have, or what candidate you voted for. We’re a church of imperfect, loveable people, with every kind of story imaginable – and we’ve saved a seat for you!

We are committed to you, the community, and the world around us. We believe God’s love embraces all persons  equally, no matter their age, ethnicity, race, abilities, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, citizen status, political leanings, religious expression, or any other boundaries the world uses to decide who is worthy and who is not. We are striving to be open and inclusive. We commit to loving YOU and caring for YOU by showing YOU the love of Jesus that we have received freely from God.

Upon your arrival, expect to be warmly greeted and directed to your event, whether it’s for worship in the sanctuary, a gallery function, cooking or art class, Thursday lunches, or a three-course tea in the Parlor. We look forward to meeting you!

Worship services are held at 10:15am on Sunday mornings and includes a blend of traditional organ, gospel piano, global music featuring our adult hand bell choir and a range of local musicians (trumpet, harp, violin and vocalists). Communion is served weekly. Children are included in worship by lighting candles, reading scripture, and singing.

Dress is casual with a meet-and-greet coffee hour following the service. Pastor Pete Bowmer delivers relevant and engaging sermons based on the traditional Lutheran seasons of the church year: Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. Click here to watch previous services.
